Long Overdue NYC Recap: Day 3

Went to the Met.
(There was much squeeing over the Degas rooms.)
(and the arms/weaponry. Lots of weaponry. :D)
(Young Woman Drawing by Marie-Denise Villers. That's right, a chick in Neoclassical France. Atta girl!)

Got lost in the Met.

Several times.
Went through the rain to a vintage store recommended to us and found out it was not as price-friendly as our local vintage thrift store back home. Went through the rain to Times Square. Stood in the rain while the others got tickets. Got lost in the rain looking for a restaurant until we settled for a pizza place instead. Tried canoli in said pizza place and had a good laugh at George Michael on the television. Went through the rain back to the hostel. Narrowly avoided a case of trench foot from -well looky there- walking in the rain all day. Had a very funny, very art-geek conversation with part of the group. Turned in early.

Funniest part of the day:I am now Yoko. (Long story)

Surreal-est part of the day:Getting lost in Egypt looking for a restroom

Worst part of the day:Wind+Rain+Puddles+Converse= Miserable

Long Over-due NYC Recap: Day 2

Spent most of the day at the MOMA.

Squeed.

Panini for lunch. Went to the East Village. Found holy grail of animation in Strand Books after finding most excellent hot chocolate.Nope, better than that overpriced museum book. (the reason I look so heartbroken). THIS one:

Hummus panini for dinner. Kat and Dave had smores. In front of us. Took cliche Empire State Building pictures.

Found Hello Kitty store on the way back to the hostel.

Funniest part of the Day:Seeing my own character in the Tim Burton show.

Surreal-est part of the Day:
Being part of a rehearsal for a performance piece.

Coolest part of the Day:Seeing the brushstrokes on pieces I remember from Childcraft Encyclopedias

Long Overdue NYC recap: Day 1

Got up at 4 in the morning. Was delayed for two hours in the airport. Miraculously got entire group on one flight in Atlanta. Stewardess on the plane thought I was old enough for booze. Made it to the hostel and waited more. Had very good Indian food. Saw Times Square at night. Fin.

Funniest part of the day:
Friends Jared & AK getting stuck in the NYC subway.

Surreal-est part of the day:
Drawing teacher Bob leading a discussion on postmodernism in the middle of Times Square.
